Council Supports the Arts

$4000.00 was motioned by Council for the

arts program this year.  Our librarian has booked

several arts performances to be held at Parkway:

School Landscaping / Clean-up

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped

on Saturday, November 10th to clean up the

gardens and yards in the front of the school.

Thank you to Mike Kean for coordinating this

event, and thank you to the following volunteers

for your time and effort:

Mr. Lowe, Mr. Hooke, Mr. Pebesma,

Mrs. Lennie, Mr. Girolamo and Mr. Boodram

and his associate, Mark.

 

           

 

***Spirit Day – November 23rd***

Just a reminder that Friday, November 23rd is

Sports Day at Parkway!  All students and staff

are invited to dress up to show us their favourite

sports and/or favourite teams.  Points will be

awarded to each class for the amount of student

participation.  The class with the most points at

the end of the school year, wins a prize!

So dress up and show us your spirit!!

                                  

 

Holiday Food Drive

Monday, December 3rd will mark the beginning

 of Parkway’s annual holiday food drive. Children

 are encouraged to bring a non-perishable item to

 school for their classroom’s donation box. 

 This food will be donated to the local food bank. 

 

New Government Website

The Government of Canada has launched a new

website aimed at helping Canadian families live

healthy: www.healthycanadians.gc.ca.

The site includes publications, videos and

interactive tools to help your family get active

and be healthy.  It also provides information

on food and product recalls due to safety

concerns, information about the Children’s

Fitness Tax Credit, and an interactive Food

Guide available in 10 different languages.

 

Meeting Notice

The next Parkway School Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at 6:30 pm in the library.  Topics covered will include:

§         2007/2008 Budget – how council will spend money this school year

§         25th Spring Fair Committee Update

§         Presentation about the Shop & Save fund- raising program

All parents are invited to attend this meeting, with any ideas, questions or suggestions for council.
